For the first time in Afghanistan, an Afghan-run trauma hospital is treating injured members of the Afghan Security Forces. The field hospital for the 215 Corps is based in the southern province of Helmand, one of the more volatile areas.

In the past, injured Afghan security forces were flown to the ISAF hospital at Camp Bastion, but now, local medics at the field hospital are treating their own.
